Position Summary
The Community Manager will be the frontline connector for the Naturally New England (NNE) community, responsible for driving member engagement and producing high-quality in-person and virtual events. This role is critical in supporting a vibrant, growing ecosystem of natural product professionals by coordinating meaningful programming, supporting members, and ensuring our community experiences are seamless and impactful.
This role also manages and supports a team of six regional State Ambassadors, empowering them to expand programming and deepen local engagement, and acts as liaison to 5 working committees consisting of board members. The ideal candidate is collaborative, proactive, highly organized, and passionate about community building and the mission of a values-driven business.
Key Responsibilities
Community Engagement & Member Support
Serve as the primary point of contact for members, responding to inquiries and ensuring a high level of member satisfaction.
Support member onboarding and renewals in collaboration with the Membership Committee.Facilitate networking and knowledge-sharing opportunities across the NNE community.
Maintain and update a member engagement tracking system and share quarterly insights with the Board.
Event Production & Programming
Lead the planning, execution, and follow-up for all NNE programs and events—including meetups, educational workshops, industry mixers, and trade show receptions.
Maintain a rolling programming calendar at least 1–2 quarters in advance, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities and available resources.
Coordinate logistics including venue booking, vendor management, ticketing, and staffing.
Manage event budgets and individual Event P&Ls in collaboration with Finance Committee.
Partner with Naturally Network and other regional affiliates to co-produce events as needed.
Ambassador Program Oversight
Provide leadership and coordination for NNE’s State Ambassador program.
Set clear goals, expectations, and communications protocols for ambassadors.
Work with ambassadors to localize and extend programming efforts across the region.
Support ambassadors in planning, promoting, and executing local events, ensuring brand alignment and consistency.
Track ambassador events and identify opportunities for deeper engagement or support.
Marketing & Communications Support
Run the day-to-day execution of social media, including scheduling, posting, and community management across platforms – mainly, but not limited to Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn.
Build monthly social content calendars and manage the creative development process to execute. This includes copywriting and managing/overseeing the production of photos, videos, and other social-first content.
Act as the voice of the brand on the front lines by responding to DMs, Instagram comments, and more in real-time.
Set, measure, and monitor KPIs (including growth and engagement targets), generate insights, and provide recommendations for go-forward strategy.
Suggest social media tactics for key platforms, aligning with overall marketing and business strategy, initiatives, and goals.
Collaborate with the Marketing Committee and any external contractors to ensure events and initiatives are effectively promoted.
Populate the marketing plan with updated programming, announcements, and member stories.
Maintain the event and programming pages on the website.
Capture and organize photos, testimonials, and key metrics for storytelling and reporting.
Board & Organizational Coordination
Provide quarterly updates to the Board of Directors on engagement metrics, event performance, and upcoming initiatives.
Attend committee meetings as needed (e.g. Programming, Membership, Finance) and provide relevant updates and support.
Maintain programming alignment with Naturally New England’s mission and values.
Qualifications
2–4 years of experience in community management, event planning, program coordination, or related roles.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and events simultaneously.
Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills.Detail-oriented, proactive, and collaborative with a “no task too small” mindset.
Comfortable with tools like GlueUp, Google Workspace, Slack, and Mailchimp (or willingness to learn).
Passion for community building, sustainability, natural products, or values-aligned entrepreneurship is a big plus.
Working Environment & Compensation
Flexible work environment
Required in-person event attendance several times per month.
Mileage reimbursement is provided for all work travel.
Salary commensurate with experience.
